From the bayous and rivers to the parks and campgrounds around our state, Louisiana residents welcome the vast opportunities to enjoy nature.
Whether you're local, or looking for a reason to experience the great outdoors of Louisiana, there is annual event happening over the 4th of July weekend that offers the perfect chance for all to enjoy, while supporting a good cause.
The Iberia Rod & Gun Club is hosting the 72nd Annual Fishing Rodeo this July at Cypremort Point this 4th of July weekend from July 4, 2025 through July 6, 2025. Events like this bring families and neighbors together for celebration and community.

This annual celebration raises funds for area non-profit organizations as well as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Those interested in competing for cash and prizes can purchase tickets for the event at several locations around the New Iberia area:
- Dago's, 3902 Darnall Road, New Iberia
- Herbert's Mini-Mart, 4009 Darnall Rd, Lydia
- Railside Feed & Supply, 1021 Albertson Pkwy, Broussard
Participants can compete in several different divisions, including a Junior Division for kids ages 15 and under. The organization follows all rules and regulations as set by the department of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries.

The organizers are also proud to offer live performances over the 4th of July weekend for all to enjoy. They are free to attend, but no ice chest or outside food will be allowed. Food and beverages will be for sale. Here's the line-up for the musical performances this weekend:
- Friday, July 4, 2025, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Seasoned Soul
- Saturday, July 5, 2025, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, The Bad Boys, featuring Brittany Poole
- Sunday, July 6, 2025, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Cliff Bernard, with the Awards Ceremony to follow.
