As we prepared to celebrate over the Independence Day weekend last week, families in Texas had no idea what laid ahead in the coming days. I know I am not the only one feeling the impact of the devastation from all of the images and videos coming out of Kerr County and the areas surrounding Kerrville, Texas this week.
As residents in Louisiana we know that feeling all too well of having to rebuild after the effect of hurricanes and storms. Many in the Acadiana area are searching for ways they can help, donate, and support our neighbors in Texas.
I've seen several posts and events that are being held to help those families and residents who need support as they try to rebuild. I have added the ones I have seen to this list below for anyone searching for ways they can help. If you know of an organization collecting resources not listed below, please feel free to email me at mackidnewiberia@macaronikid.com so we can be sure to add it to the list.
The majority of the information in this article has been copied from organizations, officials, and other community groups who are gathering supplies, donations, monetary support, and other items needed to help the residents and families in Kerr County, Texas.
