SUN Bucks |
The SUN Bucks Program is back for 2025 in school districts in the state of Louisiana. This EBT program improves food access for children over the summer break. The program allows for a one time payment of $120.00 for each eligible school-aged child, ages 5 through 18 years of age, for the purpose of purchasing groceries while school is out. Most families who are already on the free or reduced lunch program will automatically be enrolled in the SUN Bucks program, however some may need to apply.
If your household already participates in SNAP, TANF, Medicaid (income eligible), you will automatically be enrolled in the the summer EBT program and do not need to fill out an application. For children already enrolled, SUN Bucks should start going out by mid to late May.
If you do not participate in these other programs but feel you may be eligible, you can apply for the SUN Bucks/Summer EBT program now. All applications for summer 2025 are due by August 8, 2025.
The most important thing families can do is ensure their mailing address is updated. After May 1, 2025 parents can call the SUN Bucks helpline at 1-833-323-7482 or email sunbucks@la.gov for help updating your mailing address.
