Green has always been one of my favorites colors! It reminds me of spring, my birthstone, and of course reminds me of celebrating St. Patrick's Day while growing up in New Orleans. Green brings in with it a vibrant feel, full of happiness and growth. It symbolizes a new beginning, nature and celebration.
Last weekend we went to the fountain on Main Street and watched them change the color of the water to a vibrant, beautiful green. You can check out my video of the event here. It was a windy day, that's for sure, but it was fun to gather with others in the community to cheer on the mayor and the Fir Mairseail Nua Iberia as the beautiful green color poured into the city's fountain.
If you are looking for some St. Patrick's Day celebrations this week, make sure to head out to Main Street on Sunday to catch the The New Iberia Marching Men parade downtown playing traditional Irish/Celtic bagpipes and drums.
