Who is ready for Easter? I have fond memories of my grandfather's Easter ham, hunting for eggs, and of course the chocolate Easter rabbits with the sugar frosted eyes! Who ate the ears first? I usually did, while dressed in my Sunday best! I also remember bartering with friends or cousins for another set of ears or the sugar frosted eyes. Ah, those were the days!
I hope you are all benefitting from using our Easter Guide to map out what events you can participate in with the kids. There are plenty of Easter egg hunts happening all around the area this weekend! If you head out to one, be sure tell them you heard about it on Macaroni KID New Iberia. Several of the local churches in our area are holding Easter egg hunts after the church service as well. You can find all the details on our guide.
Easter is not only a family filled holiday for egg hunts and Easter baskets, but it is also a religious and spiritual holiday for many around the world. We celebrate our faith with our community and look forward to quality time with our family and friends. Easter also brings with it this weekend a beautiful full moon, the pink moon, happening this weekend. We love looking at the night sky and watching for shooting stars, constellations and roving orbits of the space station when it happens to pass over Acadiana. If you are into sky gazing, then be sure to register for the event happening next week at the Iberia Parish Library in Loreauville next week. It's a great activity for homeschoolers or just to do something fun with your teens.
Speaking of teens, if you are stumped or looking for some ideas on what to add to your teenager's Easter baskets, check out our article Easter Basket Ideas for Tweens and Teens for some ideas.
We have more beautiful spring weather coming up for this weekend so make to get our and enjoy some of the event happening in our area!
I am sending you all blessed wishes for the happiest Easter this weekend with your family!
