Do you ever need a vacation from a vacation? This is what I have been trying to figure out this week as we got back into our weekly grove after a short family trip last week. So much thought goes into planning, packing, and prepping for vacations. Then you have the weeks of the exciting countdown until the actual vacation is here. And before you know it, vacation is over and it's time to unpack and get back into life. Hence, I need another vacation!
We do have plenty to celebrate in New Iberia with Father's Day and Juneteenth celebrations planned for this weekend. There will be several events happening in our area to celebrate Juneteenth, including both parades and festivals. 1. Soul Food Festival - Franklin
June 17th & 18th
There will be free health screenings, children's village, live music, 5K run, and of course delicious food! Join us at Parc Sur La Teche behind Franklin Main Street along Bayou Teche. The event will run from Friday, June 17th through Saturday, June 18th.
2. Juneteenth Festival & Parade - New Iberia
June 18, 2022
11:00am to 6:00 pm
The parade will begin at 11:00 am, starting at Torrido Village and traveling east on Main Street, ending at Jefferson Street. Then head over to the Steamboat Pavilion in downtown New Iberia to enjoy live music, food, vendor, and community.

5. Lost at Sea Family Competition - St. Martin Parish Libraries
