Welcome, November! The ghost and goblins have traded places with the turkeys and Christmas trees! I shared a funny meme on our Facebook page the other day, joking about putting up our decorations already. But seriously...I would love to know who has their tree up already. We just took our Halloween decorations down today, so there's that!
November is one of my favorite months since I am such a foodie. I love to not only cook my traditional family favorites but I also enjoy trying a new recipe or two each year. We have other events and holidays to recognize this month, so be sure to read Don't Miss These 10 November Events & Holidays.
Now that we have officially moved into the holiday season, we have winter and fall breaks happening for the kiddos. While I know they count the days until they are out of school for the holidays, parents are looking for things they can do with the kids. Be sure to check out our event calendar for fun events you can do. We have a great printable for a Fall Scavenger Hunt that you can do with the kids in New Iberia. Or you can make it an adventure and plan a trip to another town in our area like Abbeville, Franklin, or Breaux Bridge to complete the scavenger hunt fun while getting to know a little bit more about one of our neighboring towns.
One of the holidays to recognize this month is National Recycling Day happening on November 15th. We have a wonderful article submitted this month by one of our Macaroni KID Publisher's daughters on creating art with recycled materials. This is another great activity you can do over one of the school holidays with the kids.
And lastly, we are falling back this weekend with the end of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday. It can be a rough change for the kids, so we have some tips and insights on helping them adjust to the time change this weekend.
We are again under the watch of some severe weather heading this way over the weekend, so if you are heading out to any of the events on our Macaroni KID New Iberia Recommends, please be sure to double-check with the original venue to make sure everything is still a go.
Now, on to our top recommendations for family fun this week:
