Macaroni KID New Iberia Recommends

Get the details of local events and resources in and around New Iberia

By Tracie Ysaguire, Publisher for Macaroni KID New Iberia March 24, 2023

We have officially moved into Spring although with the low temps we had in New Iberia earlier this week, you would have thought we were moving into Winter

However, things are warming up and that means we have tons of events and happenings in New Iberia, Abbeville, Franklin, Morgan City, and Breaux Bridge coming up this Spring. To get all the details, be sure to check our 2023 Spring Festival Guide which was released last week. We are updating the guide weekly with new events, so check back often.

I don't know about you but I love the list of national holidays and celebrations that are featured on National Today. Some of them are silly but others can bring awareness to struggles, sensitive topics, and other cultures that we might not get to learn more about. For example, today is National Puppy Day, so I of course wanted to give my two fur babies a shout-out!

Another holiday that was recognized this week was National Single Parent Day on March 21. I have been a single parent before and I know that it can bring many different challenges that need to be navigated while raising your children. We have several publishers for Macaroni KID that are single parents and one of them wanted to bring a spotlight to some of the challenges as well as the rewards of being a single parent. Be sure to check out her article!

We also have another guide hot off the press this week and we wanted our subscribers to see it first! The 2023 Easter Family Fun Guide is ready for you to plan all your Easter fun this season. We have events listed throughout Iberia Parish as well as St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion parishes, as well as crafts, recipes and other ideas you can use this Easter. The next few weekends are filled with plenty of bunny fun for your family to choose from. We will continue to update the guide with any new events that we find between now and Easter Sunday.

This week also has a chance for you to get a letter from the Easter Bunny and a cute, simple craft for preschoolers to create some Easter magic. You know we love crafting!

Did you catch us on News 15 this Wednesday for our kids craft with the Morning Show? We made an Easter Bunny Farm with Alex Worstell using some of the leftover items your probably have at home from last Easter. It is an inexpensive craft and perfect for kids of any age. Check out the pictures of how our craft came out to see which Morning Show member was the farmer and which ones were the bunnies and chicks!

Now, on to our recommendations for your family fun this week:
