April, April, where did you go? Yes, folks, we are already entering the last week of April and I know we are all feeling that itch to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather in New Iberia.
Even though we have had some serious downpours this month, there is still nothing like getting up early on a rainy morning when everyone else is still asleep and enjoying the first cup of coffee. Looks like the forecast for Friday morning will allow many of us to do just that!
We did our bi-weekly crafting segment this week with News 15 and had plenty of giggles behind the scenes. We did three simple Earth Day projects that you can do at home. Check out our post here! Of course, we always do these crafts with the kids in mind, as we want to keep things simple, inexpensive, and easy for all children. To make your own butterflies, grasshoppers, and bird feeders, be sure to get all the detail in our Earth Day Crafts article this week.
We are all about Earth Day this week and know that many of you will be out and about around New Iberia this weekend. But if you want to keep it simple, just get out in nature! Here are 5 Creative Ways to Explore Nature with Your Kids.
April is also recognized as National Autism Awareness Month. Recognizing autism and being able to talk openly about it brings awareness and honestly that is the first step. Although we may not fully understand how to communicate with those on the autism spectrum, we must continue to educate ourselves. This week we have an article we would like to highlight, Tips for Autism Acceptance from a Paraprofessional. She gives great insight into autism acceptance and lists some amazing facts!
Not only do we have a summer camp giveaway happening right now (you have until May 11, 2023, to enter), but we also have a discount for Camp Invention for those who have children that may be interested in a STEM summer camp. I checked on the locations finder and we have several around Louisiana, including Youngsville and Metairie. Check it out!
