We are heading into the dog days of summer, and the kids, as well as the parents, from New Iberia to Morgan City are getting restless! Maybe it's the heat or the fact that kids will be heading back to school in only one short month. However, local businesses and the community in St. Mary Parish is stepping up along with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office this July to offer these family-friendly movie nights around the unincorporated parts of St. Mary Parish.

Beginning Thursday, July 7th, and continuing each Thursday during the month of July, the public is invited to enjoy a free screening of the movie DC League of Superpets with their families.
In addition to the movie, children will be able to do a meet and greet with the deputies from the sheriff's office, firefighters, as well as meet a few of the characters from the movie. Attendees will also get an up close and personal look at the patrol vehicles, equipment, and boats used by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Deputies.
Each event will last from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and include hot dogs, chips, popcorn for the show, and cold drinks! Children will also leave with a special gift bag at the end of the night.
This is a great way to foster connections in the community, support local businesses and sponsors of the event, and spend a summer night enjoying quality fun with your loved ones.
