I first heard about Aline last year while searching for events in New Iberia to add to our Macaroni KID New Iberia calendar. To say I was impressed, is an understatement. I am happy to share her story with you and recognize Aline as this week's student spotlight for Women's History Month through Macaroni KID New Iberia.

Aline's Amazing Lemonade Stand Has Become a New Iberia Staple
According to an article from The Daily Iberian, Aline started her lemonade stand in 2017 at only three years old. Aline loved making lemonade and when the community showed up in droves to support her, Aline and her parents decided to share the profits with our local food pantry, St. Francis Diner. From her love of lemonade and the support received during this first event, the family decided to make this an annual event and continue to find other non-profits in the community who needed support.
Aline is now 10 years old and a fourth grade student at Catholic High of New Iberia. Since her first lemonade stand, Aline has raised $20,000.00 in donations that have been distributed to local area non-profits around New Iberia, including:
- St. Francis Diner
- Iberia Council on Aging
- Acadiana Hope for a Cure
- Iberia Parish Animal Control
- The Unexpected Pregnancy Center
From a simple lemonade stand in the front yard to an annual, family-fun, activity filled event for the entire community to enjoy, Aline's Amazing Lemonade Stand has grown tremendously since 2017. Last year, Aline was recognized by Louisiana State Senator, John Kennedy, for all her hard work and efforts she has put into making her lemonade stand an annual event who's main focus is to give back to our community in New Iberia.

This year, Aline's Amazing Lemonade Stand will be held on April 13, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Several businesses have joined in to support Aline's efforts to give back to the community. The event will not only feature Aline's favorite, lemonade, but will also have plenty of activities for the kids, like balloon art, train rides, face painting, and a petting zoo. There will also other refreshments and food items for sale like baked goods, jambalaya, fried fish and cracklin. The proceeds from this year's event will go to benefit Angel Paws Adoption Center in New Iberia.
