It's almost Easter weekend and we have another fun, easy craft to share with you this week!

Last year on Good Day Acadiana with Alex Worstell we made a super cute Easter craft that I really enjoyed, the Easter Family Farm. This is a fun craft for the kids using items around the house, a few crafting staples, and of course an Easter basket!

Check out the post from last year on our Macaroni KID New Iberia Facebook Page:

How to Make Your Easter Family Farm

Using a Easter basket, your child can create their own family farm with photos of their favorite family members. If you do not have old photos to use or the ability to print out any images, they can always draw the faces on paper to create their family farm. Here are a few other supplies you'll need:

Other Supplies You'll Need:

  • Crafting pom-poms, googly eyes, stickers, or glitter
  • Craft glue and/or hot glue
  • Paints, brushes, markers, and scissors
  • Photos of your family
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Construction paper
  • Noodles, beans or other small decorative items

You can make this craft anytime of year, but making it during Easter is ideal since you will need an Easter basket. Once you have your basket, add your grass. You can make the grass for your farm from construction paper or use the pre-packaged plastic grass that is available this time of year.

Next, get your popsicle sticks. We painted some and used markers to draw on the others. Once you have decorated or painted your sticks, put them aside to let them dry. The idea is to make each family member an animal or a person for your farm. You can use this time as a lesson for younger children to teach them about the animals and what happens on a farm.

Have your child choose to make their siblings, pets, grandparents, parents, or other family members one of the animals on the farm. We printed up images on paper of our family and cut them out. For the News 15 crew, we did the same using pictures of the cast from the morning show. Again, if you don't have access print photos or have any old photos to use, you can always draw faces on construction paper and glue them in place.

Make sure your popsicle stick is completely dry before gluing your photos or creations in place. Once your faces are in in  place, you can then add other crafting items to create make hats, pants, or paws.
