As we move further into April, many locals look forward to celebrating with the family and friends at one of the many local festivals that happen each spring. We decided to create our 2024 Spring Festival Guide for our followers to have all the upcoming events in one place! You can make plans to attend your favorite local event happening from New Iberia to Morgan City or make plans for a one-day trip to another city in Louisiana. Our guide will be updated throughout spring so be sure to come back and check out the new events.
We also have a roooaariing announcement for you in this week's edition! Jurassic Quest Is Roaring Into Lafayette next month and we have a CertifiKID deal for you offering discounts on tickets. Be sure to check it out! We went to the event a few years ago in Baton Rouge and loved it! Who knows ... we may do a giveaway at a later date so stay tuned!
I don't think I realized that becoming a parent meant I had to figure out dinner seven nights a week .. forever! So our recipe this week is super easy and delicious and one I will add to my list of go-to dinners. Try Kate’s Amazing Make-Ahead Meatballs for your next family gathering or a busy weeknight. Let us know if you give them a try!
Earth Day is celebrated every April and we have some easy ideas to help your family learn about recycling. Read about 10 Ways to be a Greener Family with your kids. Discuss with some of the options with them and decide on one or more you can choose to do as a family. Involving the kids in the decision helps them feel as if they are contributing to giving back to Mother Earth.
We also have one of my favorite crafts from last year to share with you to help you prepare for Earth Day too. Find out how to make your own bird feeder with leftover containers with your kids. We had so much fun making these and Adam left the bird feeder he made hanging outside the studio for a while last year. We will be back on the air with crafting Alex next week on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Be sure to tune in but you can always catch up on past segments on the News 15 YouTube Channel.
Honoring those who serve our country also means honoring their families. They are giving up precious moments that other families may take for granted. One of our publishers wrote about being a military family and offered not only some insight but some resources as well in Celebrating Resilience: Honoring Military Children in April. Be sure to share this with the military families you know.
