Mother's Day is a special occasion that is celebrated each May to honor and appreciate the love, sacrifices, and hard work of mothers.
It is a day to express our gratitude and affection for the most important woman in our lives. We usually shower mom with gifts, flowers or balloons, and of course a good meal or treat. But how about sharing a good laugh or chuckle with her?
I thought about it and most children have received "words of wisdom" from their mother's at an young age. Some of the words from our mothers become staples that will always remind us of her. For example, when I am digging in the Tupperware drawer and I can not find a lid or bottom to match, I usually say out loud, to no one in particular, "It only takes an extra two seconds to do it right!" I am sure you have a quote or two that your kids will know you for as well!
With that, I came across the book Treasury of Women's Quotations by Carolyn Warner the other day, and I got completely sidetracked reading some of these. A few quotes made me tear up, some made me laugh out loud, and others made me ponder the entirety of motherhood itself.
We celebrate Mother's Day in New Iberia on May 12 and I thought I'd share some of the best quotes I came across from the book with you! Share these memorable quotes with a mom in your life for a heartfelt laugh or hug this weekend!
