St. Martin Parish Community Health Center, Inc. will be hosting events to mark National Health Center Week 2024 from August 5th – 9th.  This annual celebration’s goal is to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades.

This year’s events celebrate Community Health Centers as being “Powering Communities Through Caring Connections.” Community Health Centers serve as the beacon of strength, service, and care in their communities. In moments of pain and loss, they offer support and love. In moments of triumph, they offer hope and a vision for the future. Let’s come together this week to celebrate the roles Community Health Centers have played in both our recent moments of loss and triumph.

This National Health Center Week is a virtual road trip across the US, highlighting the achievements and amazing work being done in each state and territory. It’s a week for us to take pride in our states/territories and communities, as well as “visiting” our friends across the map to get to know each other.

There are several local events happening this week in St. Martinville that you or your business can be a part of  to support our community.

The St. Martinville CHC is seeking donations of canned goods and other food items as well as personal care products for the homeless in our community. Donations can range items such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste to canned or boxes items such as oatmeal, juice, vegetables, and fruit. Please bring donations to the St. Martinville CHC until August 5, 2024.

We get by with a little help from our friends…here are some ways to help!

  • We’re looking to place a donation box at your place of business for school supplies and goods for the homeless.
  • Donate! Money or Time, we’d very much appreciate your donation as well. The school supply donations will be distributed at the St. Martinville CHC on August 7, 2024 during the Community Health Fair.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, our St. Martinville location will hold a Community Day Health Fair from 12:00 pm - 3:00pm. This will be a fun event, as well as an educational one.

We’re looking for organizations to have booths at our Community Day, so if your organization would like to have a booth, please contact us. Our Community Center staff works hard…they’re always up for a free meal! If you’d like to provide a meal for our staff one day during Health Center Week, please contact us.

We are also seeking door prizes at our Community Health Day to give away door prizes to the attendees. If you’d like to donate a prize, gift cards or the funds to purchase one, please contact us.
