Last week I spent the day at the New Iberia Holiday Vendor and Craft event in City Park doing easy crafts with the kids. We made ornaments using markers, paint, and egg cartons. It's always such a fun time crafting and helping the children in New Iberia create memories. I look forward to participating in both the holiday and spring vendor event that is held each year in New Iberia. Thanks to all those who stopped by to say Hi and craft with us.
Speaking of crafts, I have one of my favorites from Good Day Acadiana last year that we did with Alex Worstell. We made these Thankful Turkeys, a very easy craft that kids of all ages will love to make. It adds a personal touch to your holiday table and allows the kids to help decorate for the Thanksgiving holiday. Find out how to make yours.
If you are looking for a few recipe ideas for your Thanksgiving table that can cut back on some of the carbs, try these fake-out party potatoes. They are delicious and will fit in with any holiday meal. Let us know if you give it a try.
With the full swing of the holiday season already upon us, many families look for a way to give back to their community. More importantly, it is a time to embrace teaching by example and showing our children how to practice gratitude and service. Check out these ideas on how to volunteer as a family this holiday season.
We still have our gratitude printable available for our families but this week we also have another way to add magic to your holiday tradition with a free Personalized Elf Letter. Make sure to grab yours free elf letter for the kids soon! I know there are a few elves about to hit the shelves in the coming weeks.
And of course tis the season for deliveries... right? Well, why not say thank you to the neighborhood delivery crew with this easy treat basket. It will be the perfect pick-me-up they need to keep going to make their deliveries around town.
Now, on to more of our weekly recommendations for your free or low-cost family fun this week from New Iberia to Morgan City:
