Happy New Year to all of our Macaroni KID families!
We are still in vacay mode around here and I don't know what day it is anymore. Am I the only one? I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Sunday. Oh well.. let's start this week's newsletter with a few suggestions for your 2025 planning.
We have a list of fun and recognizable events and holidays you can read about in Here are 9 Holidays and Events to Celebrate this Winter. If you have celebrations that are recognized in your family in the upcoming months that you would like to see featured, please email your suggestions to us at mackidnewiberia@macaronikid.com. We love to hear from our readers!
If you are working on resolutions for this new year, please check out 5 Things You Should Know Before Making New Year's Resolutions. We tend to be to hard on ourselves during this time of year, expecting that we'll have it all figured out since we have moved into a new year. I've learned a few tricks on how to approach resolution making during the new year and I wanted to share that insight with you. You can also celebrate the arrival of the new year with a family vision board. Let us know if you give it a try!
If the kids are going stir-crazy as they happily enjoy the last days of winter break, I have a easy craft for you. Try this Puffy Winter Slime: Fluffy and Fun for Kids of All Ages. It makes a great activity to do indoors on a cold, rainy day at home.
I also want to say that I know many of us have been deeply impacted by the senseless violence that occurred in New Orleans over the New Year's Eve holiday. As a native of New Orleans, I was instantly reminded of the many wonderful days I've spent celebrating and enjoying the historical French Quarter area. I am joining in prayer and support for all the families and individuals affected by this mass tragedy. Make sure to give your loved ones an extra hug or two.
We will be working adding events and resources to our event calendar for the first quarter of 2025 as we re-brand with our new name, Macaroni KID New Iberia Abbeville Breaux Bridge over the next few weeks. We are planning for new events and activities this year as well so be sure to stay connected as we grow in 2025.
Now, on to the fun, free or low-cost family events happening in New Iberia, Abbeville, Breaux Bridge, St. Martinville, and Morgan City this week!
