Erath, Louisiana has hosted this annual festival in Vermilion Parish with a unique, Cajun flair to celebrate the birth of the United States of America. Activities and events take place throughout the downtown area for several days, offering a mix of family-friendly events and activities that everyone can enjoy.
According to the Erath 4th of July Celebration, the festival began in 1936 as a fundraiser by Roy R. Theriot for the local high school. The Erath 4th of July Association was officially incorporated in 1976, and has continued to fund several community projects, support local schools and town projects, and contribute to the Acadian and Cajun culture and heritage of Vermilion Parish.

The 89th Annual Erath 4th of July Celebration looks to be another fun-filled event that families throughout Acadiana will look forward to. One of my favorite things about the festival is the Water Fights between the local fire departments. Of course, the Fais Do Do also brings plenty of folks from around Acadiana to Erath to dance the night way to their favorite local bands bands and musicians. Here is the musical lineup for this year's festival:
Fais Do Do Live Music Schedule
Monday, June 30, 2025 and Tuesday, July 1, 2025, enjoy tunes from local DJ – Mike Jamez to kick of the week long festival.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Cliff Bernard will take the stage from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with a special appearance by Poisson Rouge's Camp de Musique.
On Thursday, July 3, 2025, two Louisiana favorites will take the stage to keep the crowds dancing and entertained. Lafayette's own Dustin Sonnier will perform from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Then, New Orleans favorite tribute band, The Chee Weez, will take the stage to perform classic rock hits and 80's favorites with their own specific pumped-up flare and energy to close the show.
