If shopping is not on your plans for Black Friday, then I have the perfect event for local history buffs! Celebrate Acadian Day at Longfellow-Evangeline this November in St. Martinville.
Find out about the traditions and heritage of the Acadian people, enjoy and tour the grounds of the park, see demonstrations and exhibits of the Acadian colonial people who settled in this area. A special presentation will take place at 2:00 pm during the event recounting the journey to Louisiana by the Breaux family and many other Acadians.
