Spend two days at the 35th Annual World Championship Gumbo Cook-Off in beautiful downtown New Iberia this October.
This annual free, family-friendly event brings families, businesses, and community organizations together from all over Iberia Parish to cook, dance, and enjoy plenty of entertainment.

On Saturday, the festival will feature the Cajun Creole Food Fest and the Youth Cook-Off Contest. The day gets started at 11:00 am and the gumbo from Youth Contest will be served at 12:00 pm. There will be live music starting at 10:00 am until 7:00 pm. There are also games and activities for the kids to enjoy.
Then, come back on Sunday for the World Championship Gumbo Cook-Off featuring over 75 teams competing for the winning title. Enjoy more live music beginning at 10:00 am with plenty of good eats to sample as well as activities for the kids. Gumbo samples will begin to serve at 11:00 am on Sunday. Make sure to get your tickets for the gumbo samples and get there early to be first in line as they usually run out quickly!
The festival organizers ask that no pets are brought into the festival grounds, as well as ice chest. There will be plenty of food and drink booths offering items available for purchase. Since there is no entry fee to attend the festival, it makes for a great weekend of family-fun in for all families to enjoy in New Iberia every October.
