Here's the list of the best food and music festivals not to miss from New Iberia to Morgan City!

As the summer heat fades away, many look forward to cooler temperatures, fall leaves, and dancing to our favorite bands at one of the many festivals and community events that Louisiana has to offer. There are so many fun festivals happening this fall from New Iberia to Morgan City over the next couple of months, that we had to create this guide for you to keep all the dates you need to know in one place!  

These events are family-friendly gatherings that offer a taste of what the Acadiana culture has to offer with a mix of great food and music that locals look forward to every year. Our guide will focus on all the fun food and music fall festivals happening this fall in Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion parishes but hey... this is Louisiana! And we know that their will be amazing festivals happening all over our great state, so we'll also list a few of our favorites happening that are just an easy day trip away.

Iberia Parish Festivals and Events 

Bayou Teche Fest - Downtown New Iberia

Saturday, September 21, 2024 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy the classic cars and antique boats that will be showcased during the event as well as food, music and fun! The event will take place in and around Main Street, specifically at Bouligny Plaza, the Steamboat Pavilion and Felicite's Landing. 


Farm Fest at Shadows on the Teche

Thursday, September 26, 2024

4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Kick-off Sugar Cane Festival weekend at Shadows on the Teche in New Iberia! Enjoy family fun with live entertainment, food and drinks. There will be live music as well as games and activities for the kids on the the grounds of the Shadows in New Iberia.


Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival - Downtown New Iberia

Friday, September 27, 2024 through Sunday, September 29, 2024

The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival is back in beautiful downtown New Iberia! Entry to the festival is free with plenty of events planned over the three day weekend to keep you and your family busy and entertained. Activities range from parades, carnival rides and games to specialty events like the 5K run, coronation ball, and car show. Live music is scheduled for the weekend with several local favorites, and featuring the Ying-Yang twins on Saturday night. 


World Championship Gumbo Cook-Off - Downtown New Iberia 

Saturday, October 12, 2024 and Sunday, October 13, 2024

The World Championship Gumbo Cookoff returns to beautiful downtown New Iberia this fall featuring live music, a 5k run, children's activities, a youth gumbo cook-off and of course lots of gumbo for you to try. No entrance fee for this event making it one of the family favorites to enjoy along the banks of Bayou Teche in New Iberia.

Shadows Arts & Craft Fair - New Iberia 

Saturday, October 12, 2024, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Shadows on the Teche is Arts and Crafts Fair is back for a fun-filled day in the gardens. Walk the grounds shopping from different vendors selling one of kind items, artwork, handcrafted items and much more. 


New Iberia Beneath the Balconies - Downtown New Iberia 

Sunday, October 20, 2024, 11:00 am

This free fluid festival kicks off at The Shadows on the Teche with lunch available for purchase while you listen to music on the grounds of The Shadows on the Teche. Then, grab your chairs and dancing shoes head down beautiful Main Street to catch all the performances under the balconies. The first balcony performance will begin at 1:00 pm and then make it's way down Main Street to other locations throughout the afternoon. 


St. Edward / St. Jude Parish Fair: Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace - New Iberia

Friday, October 18, 2024 through Sunday October 20, 2023, 10:30 am 

This three day family event in New Iberia includes several special events for each day. From Bingo nights, to raffles and street carnival, this local festival will bring plenty of fun to the New Iberia area. See our calendar for details on each day! 


20th Annual Tailgating Cook-Off - St. Joseph Catholic Church - Loreauville

Saturday, October 26, 2024, 9:00 am - 10:00 pm

Celebrate the weekend at this family fun event in Loreauville! The 19th Annual Tailgating Cook-Off for St. Joseph Catholic Church is back this October for a day of food, live music, live and silent auctions, games and fun jumps for the kids, and much more


The International French Bread Festival - Jeanerette 

Saturday, November 2, 2024, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm 
The International French Bread Festival is back this year in Iberia Parish. Enjoy music, food, a car show, kid's corner, community wellness programs, and so much more! 


Lydia Cancer Association: Cajun Food Fest - Weeks Park - New Iberia

Friday, November 15, 2024, 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm and Saturday, November 16, 2024, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm

Due to Hurricane Francine, the event was postponed from its original September date. This local festival is a favorite for families in New Iberia and offers a way for the community to come together, have fun, and give back at the same time. Enjoy two days of live music, fun, and food! 

Vermilion Parish Festivals and Events 

Fall Fest at Flightline Markets - Abbeville 

Saturday, September 28, 2024, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Enjoy the day at Fall Fest at Flightline Markets in Abbeville. Admission is free and the day will offer food, fun, shopping with local vendors, live music and activities. 


4th Annual Anything Rice Cook-Off - Delcambre

Saturday, October 5, 2024, 9:00 am

Join Dreams Come True to make a difference in the lives of children and families in Louisiana this October at the 4th Annual Anything Rice Cook-Off in Delcambre. The event will over a cook-off and dessert competition, live music, activities for the kids, arts & craft vendors, live auction and much more. 


Louisiana Cattle Festival - Downtown Abbeville

Friday, October 4, 2024 through Sunday, October 6, 2024 

The Louisiana Cattle Festival in Abbeville is back this year on the streets of downtown Abbeville with three days of family entertainment. Enjoy live music, arts and crafts vendors, a cattle show, parades and much more. 


Whittington Veterinary Clinic Presents: The 7th Annual Anything Over Rice Cook Off - Abbeville

Saturday
October 12, 2024
10:00 am - 4:00 pm 

The 7th Annual Anything Over Rice Cook Off in Abbeville will feature a silent and live auction, activities and games for the family, snowballs, fall photo ops and much more. And Keith Frank will hit the stage at 2:00 pm! Also, dogs will be available for adoption during the event.


Giant Omelette Celebration - Downtown Abbeville 

Saturday, November 2, 2024 and Sunday, November 3, 2024 

The Giant Omelette Festival is back in Abbeville this year for two days of purely entertaining Cajun fun! Families will enjoy live music, food, arts and crafts vendors, activities at the Kid's World attraction, and more. The main event happens on Sunday afternoon that features the preparation and cooking of the giant omelette. This part of the festival will kick off at 1:30 pm Sunday and conclude at 4:30 pm. 


St. Mary Parish Festivals and Events

7th Annual Patterson Main Street Fall Festival - Morey Park

Saturday, October 12, 2024, 10:00 am - 9:45 pm

The 7th annual Patterson Main Street Fall Festival in Morey Park is bringing live music, plenty of local arts & craft vendors, and fun activities for the  whole family to enjoy this October in St. Mary Parish. 


Cast Iron Cook-Off - Centerville

Saturday, October 12, 2024, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Live music, food, and plenty of fun is on the agenda for this year's Cast Iron Cook-Off in Centerville! Plan to spend the day tasting the samples from the competitors and dance the day away. There will also be a silent auction, jewelry sales, a cake walk, and fun jumps for the kids. 


Fun Fest - Kemper Williams Park - Patterson

Saturday, October 19, 2024, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Fun Fest is a day of free, family-fun for St. Mary Parish! The event hosted by Coonass Seafood LLC and KMRC The Swamp Dawg will offer food, drinks, games and other activities for families to enjoy. Some activities include fun jumps, a horse/petting zoo, live bands, a DJ, and much more. 


Harvest Moon Festival - Downtown Franklin 

Saturday, October 26, 2024, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

The day will be filled with plenty of events from a fishing tournament, a scarecrow contest, live music, and kid's activities. The Louisiana Cane Syrup Heritage Expo will also be taking place in conjunction with the Harvest Moon Festival offering music, cane syrup demonstrations, and a vintage farming equipment show.


Berwick Lighthouse Festival 

Friday, November 1, 2024 through Sunday, November 3, 2024 

It's time for the annual Berwick Lighthouse Festival on the historic Berwick Riverfront in St. Mary Parish. Live music, food, games, carnival rides and much more are planned over the three day weekend. 


St. Martin Parish Festivals and Events 

Annual Rice and Gravy Cook Off - Parc Hardy - Breaux Bridge

Saturday, September 14, 2024, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

The Breaux Bridge Lions Club is putting on their annual Rice and Gravy Cookoff in Parc Hardy. Enjoy live music, kid's games, food and fun for the family. Sampling bracelets can be purchased for $5.00 but admission to the event is FREE. 


Parks Family Fest - Cecile Poche Park - Parks - St. Martin Parish

Saturday, September 28, 2024, 10:00 am - 10:30 pm

Join St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Louis Mission Chapel for their annual Parks Family Fest this September in St. Martin Parish! Enjoy a day of family-fun with live music, a Chicken Wing Cook-Off, food, sweet treats, raffles, and more. 


Fall Festival at St. Francis of Assisi Church - Breaux Bridge

Friday, October 4, 2024 through Sunday, October, October 6, 2024

St. Francis of Assisi Church is back with their annual Fall Festival on the church grounds in Breaux Bridge this October! The festival runs over the three day weekend from Friday, October 4, 2024 through Sunday, October, October 6, 2024 including several events from a Fish Fry, Sweet Shop, Kid's Activities, and live music on both Saturday and Sunday night. 


Back to Our Roots Car & Music Fest - Crawfish Town USA - Henderson

Saturday, October 19, 2024, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Spend the afternoon at the Back to Our Roots Car & Music Fest in Henderson. Live music begins at noon with Ory Veillon, Highway 90 and the Kaleb Olivier Trio. Restaurant and market will be open during the fest. Tour the car show, shop with local vendors, and enjoy an afternoon of music with family and friends. 


Shake Your Trail Feather Paddle Parade - Parc Des Ponts - Breaux Bridge

Saturday, October 19, 2024, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Shake Your Trail Feather Paddle Parade is back this October for a fun day of events all to benefit The TECHE Project. Enjoy the boat parade as they paddle down the bayou for the after party at Parc des Ponts in Breaux Bridge.


The Atchafalaya Basin Festival 

Saturday, November 9, 2024, 11:00 am - 11:00 pm

This free, family fun event is filled with activities including a car show, cooking contests, raffles, kid's activities, arts and crafts vendors, and plenty of amazing Cajun music.

The 3rd Annual Creole Culture Day is happening this October in Grand Coteau. The one day festival celebrates our Louisiana creole heritage with a focus on the French language but offers a full day of events like a boucherie, sampling, genealogy info, live music, and more. 


Rougarou Fest 2024 - Houma

Friday, October 18, 2024 through Sunday, October 20, 2024 

The Rougarou Fest is a free, family-friendly event that highlights and celebrates the culture of Louisiana with live music, activities and games, and plenty of Cajun food and spirit. The Rougarou Fest will take place over three days this October in Houma near the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. From a howling contest to carnival rides and great eats, this festival has something for everyone. 


Grand Coteau Sweet Dough Pie Festival

Saturday, October 26, 2024, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Enjoy a sweet day at the Grand Coteau Sweet Dough Pie Festival this October! The day will be filled with events, fun, live music, food trucks, and a sweet dough contest.


Beignet Fest - New Orleans City Park 

Saturday, November 16, 2024, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Enjoy sampling sweet treat and other savory options like seafood or cheese dishes, covered in powered sugar. The festival will also include samples from some of the best restaurants in New Orleans as well as other food trucks, live music, a Kid's Village, arts and craft vendors, and more.
