What a nice change of cooler weather we had this week! It is what I lovingly refer to as the soup season! I know my social media feeds were flooded posts of bowls of gumbo. For us, the first cold snap means it's time for Vegetable Beef Soup and we've been snacking on it all week. We sort of move in soup phases around here once the weather changes, so next up on the agenda will wither be Baked Potato Soup or Crawfish Bisque. This is the time of year that I look forward to cooking in the kitchen and then of course having leftovers for days after.
We are wrapping up the month of October but that doesn't mean the fall festivals and Halloween fun are done! We still have plenty, and I do mean plenty of family fun events happening over the next couple of weekends. I am a certified book nerd, and enjoy spending time in local libraries and book stores. You could say that buying books is well, somewhat of .. well a problem! I normally can't leave with just one book! However, this is my favorite ways to learn about other cultures and celebrations around the world.
