Yep, it's gonna be May... in a matter of a few days and we couldn't be more excited! Not only am I celebrating my birthday this month, but it is also the second anniversary of starting with Macaroni KID New Iberia! We are working on some fun things for May to celebrate these events so be sure to stay tuned.

May brings so many wonderful holidays and events, from celebrating our teachers to honoring our mothers and fallen heroes. To learn more about other May events and celebrations, be sure to read Hello May! Celebrating Teachers, Mothers, and More this May

In honor of all the celebrations and gift-giving coming up over the next couple of weeks, we are creating a fun community guide to highlight small businesses and Mompreneurs in towns like New Iberia, Abbeville, Franklin, and Breaux Bridge. If you would like to have your business listed in our guide, then head over to Let's Celebrate Small Businesses, Momprenuers, & Shop Local this May to find out how to get some May momentum for your sales this month. We can't wait to work with you!

I wanted to highlight an event listed below for a friend and mentor. Nichole Stansbury and her family are hosting a skeet shoot fundraising event for her husband this weekend in Maurice. The community is invited to come out and enjoy a day of family fun while supporting a local family. Keith Stansbury suffered a debilitating stroke on December 9, 2022, and was hospitalized out of state until early April 2023 to recover. Although now that Keith is home, he still has a long journey ahead of him. Family and friends are hosting this event to help with the medical cost of Keith's recovery. It will be a day filled with music, food, children's activities, and of course plenty of friends supporting Keith.

We also have another yummy recipe for you this week. It made my stomach growl just looking at the photo! This Iced Poppy Seed Lemon Loaf A Yummy Spring Treat is the perfect item to celebrate the May holidays or any day of the week. We are looking forward to giving it a try this weekend.

All the buzz right in the social media and digital marketing world right now is about ChatGPT and other AI (artificial intelligence) apps and platforms. I must say, I was that kid who loved watching The Jetsons on Saturday mornings and after school. (Not gonna lie, I still do!) I remember first reading about it back in December, and since then each month it has slowly crept into almost every aspect of the digital world. Whether you love it or hate it, this technology is growing with new users every day and becoming quite popular in many industries. One of our Macaroni KID publishers released an article about using this new-fangled tool as a parenting hack. Check out the details at A ChatGPT Parenting Hack You'll Want to Try.

Don't forget we have a summer camp giveaway happening right now (you have until May 11, 2023, to enter), but we also have a discount for Camp Invention for those who have children that may be interested in a STEM summer camp. I checked on the locations finder and we have several around Louisiana, including Youngsville and Metairie. Check it out!

Now, on to our recommendations for your family fun this week:
