Well May, you did not disappoint! Filled with plenty of holidays, a birthday celebration, and two more investigations with our friends at Louisiana Spirits for our 2023 New Iberia Haunts Series.
I originally intended to write about the investigations of Victor's Cafeteria and the Greater Iberia Parish Chamber of Commerce buildings in one article but the night had other plans for me. Due to so much activity in each location, I decided to write them up separately. This week the article on Victor's Cafeteria that we did with the team at Louisiana Spirits on May 13 was released. Next week, we will release the article on our experiences at the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce building from that same night.
We will be back with Louisiana Spirits in June and July for more investigations in New Iberia as well! If you are interested in participating in a class and investigating with them, there are still a few spots left for the Spirits of New Iberia event on July 15.
Summer is practically here and the children of New Iberia are celebrating today as the school year comes to an end. Not sure what to do to keep them busy, then check out the Iberia Parish Library Summer Workshops! There will be events and activities for children of all ages and I promise your kiddos will love participating in them! To find out about the upcoming workshops and how to register, click here.
Now that summer is upon us, most of us are looking for ways to beat the heat. Swimply is offering a discount for Macaroni KID subscribers this summer. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend which most of us recognize as the official kick-off for summer fun! We have several events happening around the area from Franklin to New Iberia to pay your respect for our American heroes this Memorial Day Weekend. The Iberia Veterans Association will be celebrating this Memorial Day in Bouligny Plaza. Enjoy musical performances of patriotic themed songs and presentations. Chairs will be provided but will be on first come, first served but if you have your own lawn chairs make sure to bring them.
