I can't believe we are heading into Friday already. It was just Monday this morning, so I honestly don't know where all that time has gone!
We did our bi-weekly crafting segment this week on News 15 this week and of course, we lit up the studio! And I mean that literally because we created these super cute Summer Lanterns with Alex and Adam on The Morning Show. Get all the details of how you can make your own at home with the kids. We ALWAYS have a good time with these guys!
Summer is still ..well hot! And we still have the rest of July and August to get through! We know our readers, followers, and subscribers are looking for cool treats to chill with over the next couple of months, so with July being celebrated as National Ice Cream Month, and this Sunday being National Ice Cream Day, we decided to create a community guide with the top FIVE spots for you to try in each of the parishes we support:

Not only do we need a few cool treats to battle the summer heat, but we also need to make sure that everyone stays hydrated! I carry my tumbler filled with water around with me wherever I go. We also have another super cute craft to share with you this week from our Publisher of Macaroni KID Acadia-St Landry. How about this DIY Solar Oven to make your own summertime s'mores? I'd say it's a YES!
Now if you tell the kids that they must eat dinner before eating their s'mores, then we have a couple of recipes for you too. Friday, July 14 is National Macaroni and Cheese Day so we pulled a recipe from the vault for you this week. We think these will be a big hit with the kiddos!
Our friends over at Louisiana Spirits will be back in New Iberia this Saturday hosting the Spirits of New Iberia event on Main Street. This is a class and investigation of FOUR local buildings right here in downtown New Iberia. They have opened up a few more spots if you are interested! You will get to participate in a live paranormal investigation using the team's equipment and get some insight as to what happens during these investigations.
