🧘‍♀︠Reflection, Mindfulness, & Meditation: A Silent Retreat in Nature at Rip Van Winkle Gardens is coming this November. ðŸ§˜‍♀ï¸

I've been taking a mindfulness class with local teacher and yoga instructor Susan Buller of Bayou Lotus Wellness Studio since mid September in New Iberia. Every week we meet to practice yoga, discuss mindfulness techniques, and share our experiences with the group. While all of my worries and struggles haven't melted away, I am finding new approaches to use to manage daily stressors.

Practicing mindfulness is a choice that each of us are able to make when we are ready to do so. It's hard to balance all that we have on our plates as parents and I often look for ways that I can help myself improve and grow. I know from experience if I am putting effort into healing and feeling the best I can, I have more to give to those around me.

As we wrap up our class with Susan next week, each of us are looking forward to enjoying a day away from the screens and the noise to spend a day in nature and find a way to balance ourselves before the holiday season begins and we end 2023.

A Time of Acceptance and Letting Go: A Silent Retreat at Rip Van Winkle Gardens

The upcoming retreat is open to anyone who is looking for a way to receive the wisdom of acceptance and learn more about letting go of the things that weigh us down.

This retreat will allow participants to practice noble silence, reflection, journaling, get back to nature, and practice mindful meditation on the beautiful grounds of Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia. I have been to the gardens several times, but each time I find something new to enjoy and always look forward to any opportunity to be there.
