Get the scoop on local resources and events happening this week from New Iberia to Morgan City!

By Tracie Ysaguire, Publisher for Macaroni KID New Iberia November 17, 2023

It’s the holiday season and many are counting down the days until Thanksgiving day. This is the holiday when foodies unite and families gather to enjoy all the traditions that fill our table. For those looking for a way to cut back on the carbs this Thanksgiving, we have an easy low-carb fake-out party potato dish for you to try this holiday.

Thanksgiving is usually a busy one for us, and we spend a few days in the kitchen to prepare. While parents are busy cooking and prepping for the holiday feast, it’s not uncommon for the kids to get bored or whine about wanting to help out. We have a great craft idea for you this week that will keep the kids busy while also making them feel like they are helping for the holiday. Try these Thankful Turkeys crafts with the kids while they are home for the Thanksgiving holiday. We also have a fun Thanksgiving printable for the kids this week, so check that out as well!

If you are planning on traveling over the holidays, you may want to visit a museum or two. We have the details for you this week in Museums for All that allows families to participate in free or very low-cost admission to 1,200 museums across the country for families with a SNAP EBT card.

This November Macaroni KID is celebrating 16 years of being the go-to for parents everywhere who are looking to answer the question, “Mom, what can we do today!” From crafts and family resources, to local events and holiday deals, I’m honored to be a part of the Macaroni KID team that highlights our wonderful community in New Iberia and the surrounding areas. I absolutely love meeting folks at the events and the kids are such a delight. I met so many amazing kids at the last two events I did!

Another one of of the great things we can offer to our Macaroni KID subscribers is giveaways and contests and we have a new one for you this week! Macaroni KID and Live Nation are getting into the holiday spirit by giving away four $250 LiveNation gift cards! Find out how you can enter now!
