I hope everyone enjoyed their Mardi Gras season this year! I feel like this year was so much shorter than normal and went by way too fast. But the good thing is we are getting closer and closer to Spring and all of the fun events and festivals that many look forward to each year. We are starting to work on the Spring Festival Guide and we are looking for sponsors! If your business or organization is interested in becoming a sponsor and partnering with Macaroni KID New Iberia, let us know. We would love to work with you!
With Mardi Gras behind us now, we have officially moved into the season of Lent in New Iberia. We have the 2024 Fish Fry Guide ready for our subscribers first in this newsletter. We will continue to add events as they are announced. These events are a great way to support our local organizations and take a night off from cooking at the same time. I love a good fish fry!
We are getting down to the wire for our big giveaway happening this month! Tomorrow is the last day to enter to win a family 4-pack of tickets to Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Live: KING FOR A DAY happening at the Heyman Center. The giveaway is open to both new and existing subscribers. The only catch: you must be a subscriber and fill out the entry form to be entered. That's it!
This week we are also celebrating National Random Acts of Kindness. The simple act of showing kindness to someone else can go a long way. We have some ideas you can use to pay it forward to someone else this week. How about making these Easy No-Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars for a co-worker or a neighbor? It's the perfect way to brighten someone else's day.
This week is also the The Great Backyard Bird Count happening from February 16-19. We have some links and ideas for you to use this week to relax on your porch or backyard and count the birds with the kids. This is a great activity to teach the kids more about nature while spending quality time with them.
Next week, I will be back on the air with Alex Worstell and Good Day Acadiana doing another fun, inexpensive kid's craft with items from around your home. Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 , from 7:00 am to 9:00 am to see what our next creation will be!
