Macaroni KID New Iberia Recommends: 5 Things To Do This Week!

Get the scoop on local resources and events happening this week from New Iberia to Morgan City

By Tracie Ysaguire, Publisher for Macaroni KID New Iberia March 22, 2024

We have a packed newsletter this week with plenty of Easter fun, another giveaway, and other community resources your family can use. So, let's get to it!

We know that it is Easter time in New Iberia and that means plenty of family fun events are happening from New Iberia to Morgan City. Keeping up with all the events is a huge task and I don't take it lightly. However, since this may be the last guide for us I wanted to make sure that even if we did not have a sponsor, I was able to put together a quick list of events and fun ideas for the next two weekends to share with our local families. Check out our 2024 Easter Family Fun Guide for all the details. We also have a personalized Easter Bunny letter you can get for the kids! Your kids or grandkids will love getting a letter addressed to them from the Easter Bunny.

And speaking of Easter we crafted more Easter fun with Alex Worstell this week and our friends from Louisiana Spirits. We talked about Cajun Country Para Can happening this weekend (I am so excited it's finally here!) and made Bunny Good Night Lights. Find out how to make your own Bunny Good Night Lights with a few items from around your home. They are really easy and the kids will enjoy adding their personal touch to their night lights.

Now that Spring has sprung, most folks are looking forward to getting outside to enjoy the parks, ride bikes, and play with the kids. We have a great article this week that can bring your family together: Nature-Inspired Spring Yoga For the Whole Family. Try a few simple poses, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy time with your kids.

We have another giveaway for you as well this week sponsored by Macaroni KID National. Find out how to enter to win $500 toward the summer camp of your choice! The entry period closes at midnight April 21, 2024.

We did not get a nomination for an outstanding young lady in our community this week but we do have some tips on how you can celebrate the women in your life this March in 5 Ways to Celebrate Phenomenal Women in Your Life. We still have another week to celebrate Women's History Month so if you know of a young lady in our community that we can feature, please reach out to us. We'd love to share her accomplishments!

And we are bringing back one of my favorite recipes from the vaults just in time for Easter. Make these Bite-Sized Sugar Cookie Fruit Tarts (Almost) Too Pretty To Eat for your upcoming Easter celebrations.

Now, on to our recommendations this week:
