Welcome June! Summer is here, the kids are out of school, and parents everywhere are looking for events, camps, and activities to do with the kids in New Iberia. We are working hard behind the scenes to keep our event calendar up to date with the latest events and resources for all of our parents to use as their go to resource for family fun.
TECHE Project is hosting a free paddle workshop this summer in New Iberia. Although the spots may be filled up, TECHE Project has plenty of events throughout the year that they offer to the community. Be sure to connect with them on social and sign up for their email alerts to get the scoop on the upcoming events and workshops. We did our biweekly crafting segment this week on News 15 and made these fun Fish Tank Paper Plates crafts with Alex Worstell. We always have such a great time in the studio with these guys! Find out how you can make your own Fish Tank Paper Plate craft with the kids this summer.
I know I am not the only parent who sees that summer brings big appetites for the kids while they are home. So we have two easy snacks that you can add to your repertoire of summer recipes this week.
I love this 5 Ingredient Watermelon Salsa. My daughter Mia makes this all summer long! It's the perfect pool or outdoor snack for your next grill night. And June 12 is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day so why not whip up a batch of these Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookies. Once the kids are done eating the cookies, send them outside to burn off all that energy!

Enjoy the Delcambre Seafood and Farmers Market monthly market featuring Louisiana fresh seafood, live music, arts & crafts for the kids and much more. There will be more than 60 vendors this week and this is the last market until August so be sure to add this one to your list.
3. LCA Summer Fun Fest - Weeks Park in Lydia

Join the Lydia Cancer Association and Iberia Parish Recreation as they kick off the summer fun at this family event! Enjoy carnival games, cake walk, food, craft vendors and more.
4. Open Summer Tours - Albania Mansion, Jeanerette

Speaking from experience, I promise touring the absolutely beautiful Albania Mansion should be on your to-do list this summer. Several spots are open during the month of June and July to tour the home and the grounds. Proceeds will go to benefit the the Jeanerette town restoration and renewal.
5. Free Summer Movies at Lake Cinema - Morgan City
