Parents, have you checked out our event calendar for June and July? I have spent most of the week updating the content with as many free and low-cost events that we have happening this summer in and around New Iberia.
There are plenty of summer fun days, our local libraries are offering free workshops and summer reading programs, and there are other free camps happening in St. Martinville this summer as well. Be sure to stay connected to Macaroni KID New Iberia this summer so you can plan your summer activities with the kids.
When my children were younger, they loved attending the local VBS events around town. We participated in multiple events during the summer at local churches as they offered a way for kids to meet new friends, create art projects, and participate in songs and dances they still remember today. Our 2023 VBS Summer Guide is out so check into some of the free or low-cost camps happening around New Iberia, Franklin, Abbeville, Breaux Breaux, and Morgan City.
We of course have Father's Day coming up this June and we have two great articles for you this week. One is a free printable that will let the kids tell Dad just what they think of him. We all know kids can say the darndest things! And we also have an article written by one of our Macaroni KID dads that I absolutely loved. Let's celebrate the impact that our fathers have on our children this year rather than just the typical dad hobbies. Be sure to tune in next Wednesday, June 14, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am on News 15 for our biweekly crafting segment. We will be crafting to celebrate our dads next week with Alex Worstell.
Some of our Macaroni KID publishers got to take a trip to Walt Disney World Resort last week and it looks like these publishers and their families had a blast! 1. Latanier Cookers: Dutch Oven Monthly Gathering

Every second Saturday, the Latanier Cookers Dutch Oven Group will be hosting a Dutch oven gathering at the park near Pavilion #1 and the bathhouse (splash pad area) at Palmetto Island State Park. Enjoy fellowship and tasting side dishes and desserts with the local community. Tasting begins around 11:00 am depending on the weather.

Held the second Saturday of every month, head out to the Kaplan Farmer's Market at Turnley Park for food, crafts, kids activities, and more. This market will be themed for Father's Day offering one of a kind gifts, a food truck and fun for the kids.

4. Public Swim - Isle of Iberia RV Resort - New Iberia

The Isle of Iberia offers public swim dates all summer long in New Iberia for $10.00 per person. Pack your sunscreen, get the kiddos in the car and head out for a day of fun this summer! Concession stand is open on Sundays so no outside drinks or food are allowed.
5. Splash Pad & Pool Ribbon Cutting at Edna Landry Aquatic Park - St. Martinville

Join in on the fun with the City of St. Martinville at the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the splash pad and public pool this Sunday. Both the splash pad and city pool will officially be open this Sunday and during the summer.
