What a week this has been! Our winner of the Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Live: King for a Day was selected for the family 4-pack of tickets. Congrats to our winner Lacie D.! I hope you and your family enjoy the show!
We also moved into some beautiful spring-like weather this week in New Iberia and I am all for it. This is my favorite time of year as I truly enjoy the local festivals, Easter events, and live music that fills our calendar for the next few months. I will be digging in over the next week to get all the details added to our event calendar just for you.
Speaking of local events, our community has some wonderful folks and I love seeing the fundraisers and other community events that are held in New Iberia and the surrounding areas. Remember you can always submit your free or low-cost event directly to our calendar for review. Please share this with others you know!
This week, I am sharing one of my favorite things that our family does during Lent. We started creating a swear jar several years back and it's something I look forward to sharing with my kids. Find out how to make your swear jar this Lent with your family.
Did you know that we have an extra day this month? Leap Day is happening on February 29 and we have all the details about this holiday from one of our Macaroni KID publishers to explain what this day is all about.
I did the crafting segment this week with Alex Worstell on Good Day Acadiana and we brought our favorite fairy tales to life. Find out how you can celebrate National Tell a Fairy Tale Day on February 26 with your kids. This is a great craft to do anytime of year with little learners or younger children who are learning how to read.
We also have a few articles for your favorite foodie this week! (I too am a foodie so I am happy to share these with you.) Check out these easy fish tacos during Lent with your family or if you want a night off in the kitchen, check out the 2024 Fish Fry Friday Guide for the details on which local churches and organizations are offering meals for purchase. It's been updated since the release last week.
We are not only bringing fairy tales to life this week but we are also bringing our favorite books to the table while celebrating Read Across America Day on March 2. Find out how to make simple recipes from Page to Plate: Book-Inspired Eats for Read Across America Day. Your kids will love the creativity of these easy recipes!
Now, on to our recommendations this week:
